Some of my favorite cakes to make are my special order ones, ones that people want to look specifically like something. I really love to make special cakes for my kid's birthdays too. I want them to always remember those special cakes on their birthdays. Here are a few of the specialty shaped cakes I have made.

ReplyDeleteThese are great! Not sure what kind of covering you are working with, but I have used fondant and it made me feel like a pro! I never like the tastes of the cakes I make because they are overwhelmed with color. We eat mostly organic, so I can really taste artificial colors, etc. I wonder if anyone out there knows where I can get organic or at least "naturally" flavored/tinted fondant?? ALso interested in making these types of cakes available for other specialty diets (diabetic, nongluten, etc.). It's clear you have a heart for children and it would be great if kids with dietary restraints got to celebrate with a great cake too! With your talent - you could really be on to something, so keep decorating!! What a great way to share a part of yourself with others - it's a true art!
ReplyDeleteThese are so cool. You have a special talent and a creative eye for baking. I'm lucky if I don't mess up the cake mix from the box! Typically, how long does it take for you to make one of these specially designed cakes?
